Kitchen Design Ideas

If you are considering or in the process of designing your own kitchen, keep in mind the following best kitchen designs.

The L-Shaped Kitchen

This kitchen design is in the shape of a Letter “L.” The refrigerator is typically at the end of one long wall with the sink centered on the same wall. The stove sits perpendicular on the other wall.

The U-Shaped Kitchen

The U-Shaped kitchen has an island at the open end of the “U.” The stove, refrigerator and sink all sit on different walls with the sink in the center of the bottom “U” part.

The G-Shaped Kitchen

For the “G” style kitchen, one appliance is planned for each of the two walls. The third appliance is typically on the center island which is a sink or cooktop.

Design Tips

• Remember function before style for a safer more efficient space.
• Use variety for storage for easier organization.
• Combine overhead and task lighting for an elegant ambiance.
• Add as much counter top space as possible for cooking, storage, and organization.
• Add slip-resistant non-porous flooring to increase safety and floor longevity.
• Choose heat and moisture resistant paint to prevent fading, peeling, and cracking.
