Different Tile Bathroom Design Ideas

Simple white tile can lead to a multiple of bathroom designs from modern to traditional depending on how it is used. Here are four ways to design with basic white tile.

Modern Bathroom
A modern bathroom is well designed when large format porcelain tile or stone is used on the floor. A popular size right now is 12x24. Choose only 1 or 2 colors to keep a minimalist feel. For the walls, use glass mosaics that bled with several colors. Large format tiles can make the area feel larger. Using a monochrome palette works with only a few pops or color.

Cottage Style Bathroom
This style bathroom works well with textured stone or porcelain for an aged looked. Neutral tones are good if color is added to the walls. For the walls, subway style tile with white 3x6 inch squares are a classic option. Other good choices are soft colors such as sand, blue mist, or beach tones.

Traditional Bathroom
The flooring on a traditional bathroom can be either porcelain or stone with good visual patterns or designs to create interest. Mosaics can be used to cover the whole floor of be used as accents. For the walls, 12x12 polished marble are good for sophistication or honed stoned tile. Neutral grays work well with a pop from the mosaic flooring.

Spa Bathroom
A spa bathroom targets the appeal of sand and water. Therefore, natural stone, round pebbles, and accents add great appeal. For the walls, using a glass, porcelain, and stone can all work well. Some tile can be used for both the wall and floor, keeping the look overall smoothing. Stick with a soft green, blue, or beige color.
