How to Get Rid of Large Rats
One of the most common rodents that infest most homes is rats. Now, there are small rats and there are large rats. There is also the problem of mice. In here, we talk about how to get rid of large rats.
Determine Your Infestation Type
You must be aware of the differences between mice infestation and large rats’ infestation. The two are not the same. When you have very small mice or small rats, it is a common problem in many homes. You can simply use some poison, blend that into food that the rats or mice would eat and you would find them dead the next morning. You can scout your entire property, look for places where the mice are hiding or have built their homes and accordingly you can spread the poison loaded food and get rid of the mice or rats quickly.
Where Large Rats Are Found
Large rats do not infest every home. There are rats that are as long as a foot or more. These are giant rats and weigh much more than ordinary mice or small rats. Large rats would only thrive if there is sufficient food and enough pests or insects for them to munch upon. Unhygienic environment, lots of wasted food and very dirty or unattended places are collectively the thriving ground of large rats. This is why you would find them in back alleys of districts where plenty of restaurants or hotels are located and in large garbage dump yards.
Clean Up Your Home
The easiest way to get rid of large rats is to clean up the place, not to have garbage or wasted food and to deny them the thriving and breeding ground. Large rats cannot survive without food or garbage and they would abandon your property.
The simplest solution to get rid of large rats is to first get exterminators. Trusting the professionals with the job is a sure-fire way to get rid of large rats and thereon you must fix all the loopholes that lead to the outbreak in the first place. Poison that works for small rats and mice may not work for large rats.
