Horse flies are usually not prone to infest a home. Properties that are in the cities or suburbs are not infested with horse flies that often. However, there may be some specific causes that lead to such a situation. Usually, horse flies are found in abundance in farms and stables. When there is livestock, horse flies would be an obvious reality.

If there are horse flies in your rental home, then the first step you should take is identify the cause that has lead to such a problem. There may be some livestock in and around. The pets in the home or in a neighborhood may be infected. There may be carcasses in the neighborhood. You can check out the nature of the invasion and its extent to determine what kind of trap would be ideal for you. You can make your own traps without spending much money on ready made ones but it is an unsure way of tackling horse flies. You can never be sure if your trap would be effective.

Using Sprays
The other simple answer to how to get rid of horse flies in a rental house is to use sprays. There are many products which can be used to get rid of horse flies. The chemicals that these products contain can be slightly harmful or harmless for humans. You can choose an appropriate one based on where you are applying the sprays. Ideally, you shouldn’t just spray your own home but an area much larger than that. This is because if the origin of the horse flies invasion is beyond your home then getting rid of them from your home would cure the symptom and the not the entire problem.
