The Landlord Tenant Board: What it is and When it is Needed
There are also numerous other situations that can creep up and cause a rift and a disruption, between the landlord and a tenant. The problem that occurs worldwide is that the landlord and the tenant take it upon themselves to resolve the issue. In some cases it works, in others the situation escalates and either party retaliates in such a manner that it requires official aid and help.
When the matter gets too serious, there are certain courts and tribunals that will take the case and both parties will be asked to present themselves in court, where the legal officials will resolve the matter as they see fit. This means that once the legal courts are involved, both the landlord and the tenant have lost the right to resolve the issue themselves.
This is primarily the reason when something called The Landlord Tenant Board comes into effect. The Landlord Tenant Board is part of a tribunals cluster and so, when there are any disputes between the landlord and the tenant, the Landlord and Tenant Board can be asked for aid with the issue.
What you must consider is that this board can only be called for help once you come to realize that there is no other solution to the problem. When and if you are in no position to resolve the issue and you feel that the other party is being unreasonable, you can approach this Landlord and Tenant Board.
This board is however, the last resort because if you feel that you can resolve the issue without having to spend the extra cash on it, you should do it. People sometimes enter the tribunal jut to see that the other party was in fact correct and they end up compensating. Try to see the issue from the other party’s perspective and see what you would do if you were their shoes. This is the most realistic approach that can be used to solve the issue.
