How long can an adult stay before it becomes a legal issue to kick them out?

I have a family of four living in a 3 bedroom home I own in California. An adult daughter, who isn't on the lease, is giving birth and moving in for awhile when the grandchild is born so my tenants can help her. The lease states that no more adults can living in the residence but I feel hard hearted to not let her stay for awhile. My concern is that she may stay! How long, legally, can she stay before she becomes a tenant with whom I would have to go through legal channels should I decide not to renew the lease this March?
