Americans Kiss and Make up With Real Estate

A national poll provided by Bankrate is showing a brighter future for real estate with 55% saying that they believe home prices will go up. Banks have lowered the number of foreclosed on houses in their possession in many areas and the Federal Reserve has helped at least in part by lowering rates. These things combined have brightened the future or real estate, and, according to investment strategist William Delwhiche, helped us get past the foreclosure crisis.

Its not an even recover though. Urban areas have seen a better recovery overall, especially in high-density areas that are easily walkable. Their suburban counterparts are seeing a bit more lag in the recovery. There are still many people that are underwater in their mortgages and the rate of recovery will depend on several factors such as the speed that the builders jump back into the game, interest rates, and, of course, employment.
