BlackBerry considering real estate sales: Report

In Toronto, BlackBerry has been reported by the Globe and Mail newspaper to be trying to sell real estate to help the company financially. Though they did not identify the sources, the newspaper said that the phone company was looking to "outline ideas to generate the largest possible return in as little time as possible," possibly looking into selling property only to lease it back.

Apple's iPhone and Google Inc's Android have gone up against the BlackBerry, causing the latter layoff more than 1/3 of their workforce. They are currently looking at being acquired by taken private by Fairfax Financial Holdings, but with stock dropping below the deal price, the deal may not go through.
