A new trend is a 'health centric' home that combines multiple wellness attributes for the owner. Leonardo DiCaprio, a big supporter of such investments, has bought one of the units like this on East 11th Street in New York City. The building has five units and it is not known which one DiCaprio finally settled on. There are three three-bedroom units that range from around the $14M-$15M range, a penthouse with four bedrooms that was $50M and the top end unit has five bedrooms available to it.
The building was built in 1897 as a dress factory and has been upgraded to provide multiple features that Columbia University Medical School and the Mayo Clinic believe may help to lengthen a lifespan. The showers are infused with vitamin C, the air is purified, and the lighting is equipped to match your "natural circadian rhythm throughout the day." The developers have also partnered with the Clinton Foundation to build 40 homes in Haiti for every unit that they sell.
