City Attempts to Melt Residential Street Ice

Ice has been building across parts of America and it's become an issue in residential communities as well. Grand Junction, Colorado has been fighting to keep ahead of it, but the city rarely sees this sort of freezing and has not been as prepared as other cities in Colorado might have been. With only 7 snow plows available to them, they don't have the resources to counter the storms on every street, and officials say that salting every street in the city just is not financially possible, so they've focused all their efforts on keeping the main streets open to their citizens.
The salt and chemical mixture that they've used to try to stay ahead of the icy conditions may not fight it as well as they hoped with sub-zero temperatures.
