Fake landlord sentenced in Albuquerque renting scam



At least one scam has come to an end and the man that was found guilty of conducting the scam was sentenced to four years in prison for it. Shaun Anaya was arrested in 2011 on the charges that he had rented out more than 24 homes that he did not own. He would break into vacant, foreclosed on homes and rent them out.


The Albuquerque man plead guilty to 12 charges against him on Tuesday. Some of these included fraud and forgery counts as well as attempted larceny over $20,000.
