Landlord convicted of peeping on tenants

A landlord in Iowa city has been charged with eleven counts of invasion of privacy after he created peep holes to spy on female tenants in the bathrooms and bedrooms. One tenant, Linsie Mairiet, heard a noise while in the shower and found a hole in her ceiling above her leading to the attic. She had previous blocked the whole with cotton balls, but they had been removed. She quickly dressed and looked out her front door to find Elwyn Miller, the landlord, coming down from the attic by ladder. She confronted him, saying that she would turn him into the police and that she needed to be let out of her lease immediately.
Other peep holes were found when the building was searched and the judge ruled that they had been put there by the landlord for the purpose of watching his female tenants.
