November and December are notoriously slow times for filling vacancies. If you go into the holidays with an empty property and no hopes of filling it, it can bring about more stress during the holiday season. There are ways of avoiding vacancies during these hard-to-fill months. When a year lease ends, try to either renew it for the same time or some collection of months, but avoid the month-to-month leases, especially during this time frame. If you are unsure of your tenant's plans, it can leave you wondering. Also avoid year long leases that begin in these months. You should attempt to go a bit longer or a bit shorter, avoiding November and December as the time when you'd potentially have to find a new tenant.
