How Much Do Landlords Charge for Damages Upon Move-Out?

While many states do not strictly determine how much a landlord may charge for damages done to the property by the tenant during their stay, most do at least govern the process. A list and proof of repairs is often required to prove that the amount of the security deposit kept was required. There is usually a select amount of days that the landlord must either return the deposit or provide this list to the former tenant. Receipts may be required, depending on the cost of the repairs.
