Norwegian man buys flat with forgotten $24 bitcoin investment

Four years ago Kristoffer Koch of Norway bough $24 worth of bitcoins, a virtual currency. Now 29 years old and an engineer, he remembered making the investment and took an entire day to remember the password. It was worth the time because he'd found that the worth of the bitcoins and soared in the past four years, making his $24 investment suddenly worth around $690,000. He only cashed in about 1/5 of the investment, but it was enough even after taxes to put a down payment on and to restore a flat in central Oslo, which is one of the world's most expensive cities.
