Winter is coming up fast and some areas of the country typically sees harsher weather than other. There are a few ways that you can protect your landscape in these areas, to keep the snow and cold from destroying it. The use of anti-desiccants and windscreens can help to take are of evergreens on the property, while mulch around shrubs and at the base of a tree can help to even out the temperatures of the dirt around it. Vegetable gardens should be pulled, replaced with others that are more winter-appropriate. Make sure to cut back shrubs and perennials so that they may grow back in the spring. Leaves that have fallen can be gathered and used as mulch. Lastly, make sure that your last watering for the season happens before the first freeze.
