RI landlord summoned to court over noisy houses

Bob McCann, a landlord in Providence, RI, has been summoned to court because of the noise that his tenants have made. McCann owns nearly 200 apartment units and rents them out to a variety of people, including college students. The police had been called out enough to the units because of loud parties disrupting the neighbors, and had issued a violation of the city noise ordnance. As it currently stands, if the police are called back out to the units already warned within the next six months, both landlord and tenants may have to pay $500.
