Sheriff's Office: Tenant steals landlord's identity - Wed, 08 Jan 2014 PST


Lacey Major of Spokane Valley, Washington had stayed rent-free in a property owned by a seventy-eight year old landlord, but was recently arrested for stealing his debit card and withdrawing $800 from his bank account. The landlord contacted the sheriff's office to alert them that his wallet was missing and that he suspected Ms Major as the possible thief. Though Ms Major originally denied taking the money, she had been caught on a security camera. She then changed her story that she had pulled out money for dog food.
Ms Major faces charges of second-degree identity theft as well as second-degree theft for the money stolen.
