Tenant Blinds Caretaker

A tenant in Nigeria partially blinded the caretaker of the house he was renting a room in when the caretaker, 60-year-old Levi Ogbuo, confronted him on the fact that the tenant owed three month's worth of rent. According to fellow-tenants, the young man named Jessy John often avoided the caretaker when coming in and out of his apartment because he knew that he owed rent.

Ogbuo confronted John about the late rent and the younger man beat him, blinding him in one eye with a wooden stool. Though the caretaker was rushed to the hospital, they were unable to save his sight in that eye. John has been formally charged and claims that he could not pay rent because he did not have the money.
